Liz Powell has over fifteen years of experience in government affairs. She started G2G in 2007 and travels regularly between the Mid-West office in Cleveland, the Washington, D.C. office on Capitol Hill and our satellite offices in Ann Arbor and Pittsburgh. She served as the Legislative Director for Congressman Jim Langevin (Armed Services Committee) and Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald (Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Small Business Committee), campaign staff for both Congressional and presidential races in OH, PA, VA and CO, manager of public affairs and lobbying operations for NAADAC (National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors), President of the WIN (Women's Information Network), and Policy Analyst for the UK Parliament on the Health Committee. As the Legislative Director, Liz managed all legislative drafting, floor votes, testimony, speeches and earmark projects; formed the Congressional Disabilities Caucus; managed the Women's Caucus; and developed health, education, economic development, defense and transportation legislation and moved it through committee and to the floor for passage by organizing bipartisan campaigns. She has also built regional and national coalitions; ran a PAC (political action committee); led non-profit fundraising drives; and organized large-scale media events with the White House and the Secretary of Health and Human Services and other agencies, Members of Congress, Governors, and state legislators. Liz loves government affairs and brings enthusiasm, connections and significant legal, policy and grassroots know-how to all clients.
